EG engine mount windshield sealant fill in??? driver side mount bottom a/c bracket.
i was looking online for new mounts, but came some forums some people use to fill the engine mounts with windshield sealant and it looks like its very solid in some pics ive searched online.
but my question is that i went to a auto store and found butyl windshield sealant.
will that work on the mount. want to fill in the thing right away but want to know if this will be good did i buy the correct sealant to fill it in.
later to find out they have some other brands like ureathane or something.
wtf. ive already bought the butyl windshield sealant can this be used????

butyl rubber is used to seal things like taillights, lenses, and i believe even some glass, but it is not the solid stuff you're looking for as butyl stays soft and tacky (works great for taillights though...).
It needs to be 3M window weld. Any other brand and it may not be the same. It is based on the shore value of the finished product. You may be able to get it if it is another brand and the shore value is the same as the 3M window weld. Hope this helps and sorry I do not know the shore of the 3m stuff right now off the top of my head.
I think you're looking for 'window weld'..
