Default b18c 96-97 spec questions

Hi so im planning to swap in a couple months i bought a 94 dc shell but its wiring harness was used for a b20 and it looks really unprofessional my questions are is it possible to remove that harness and use a usdm gsr harness? if so, which one would it be, a obd2a or obd2b? I think they're two different kind because i really want it to be plug and play im planning to buy it from hmo i will be using the type r ecu and hopefully a gsr harness if its possible to switch out the ls harness. also, i have a questions about the axles, i plan on buying the whole swap which includes the axles but i read somewhere about the axles being a different, so if i use the type r axles it will fit? im sorry i have little to no experience on cars but im going to try swapping it myself with the help of honda tech and maybe a mechanic since it looks really compicated, anyway i want to know what im getting myself into before i spend like 4k on a swap.

U need obd2a wiring harness. It should plug and play.

OBD2a - 96-98 civic / 96-99 integra
OBD2b - 99-00 civic / 00-01 integra

As far as the type r axels goes, I don't think u can use type r axels with a gsr tranny (which assuming u have a gsr tranny) cause the type r is has LSD. Unless u have a type r tranny then yea the type r axels will work.

LSD has nothing to do with it. Type R is a 5 lug and uses a different size spline in the wheel hub.

You need a harness from a 94-95 Integra. I'm not sure if vtec ones will work in an LS chassis, because the harness is 2 piece and I'm not sure if the vtec wires are on the chassis harness.

As for an ECU, you will need a jumper harness from OBD2a computer to OBD1 harness, and an OBD2a dizzy to OBD1 harness, than you will have to wire in the 2nd o2 sensor and the crank sensor.

It would be easier to get a chipped ecu for OBD1 and get an OBD1 dizzy, seeings how that's what your car is

you can use an obd2 harness, but you still will have to wire in the vtec on the body harness, also a jumper harness for the ecu, and have to live with a check engine light.

axles don't matter, itr or not. if you have abs, you need to use abs axles. cannot use jdm itr axles.

buy that wrecked type r complete car in the type r section. that's a usdm b18c5 which is more desirable than the jdm engine and you'll get all the parts, a 5 lug and itr interior. he's only looking to get 5k out of the whole car. by far the best deal going if you're ready to buy

96-01 GSR harness will be fine. If you use an OBD1 your injectors, distributor and alternator won't be plug and play. However you'll still need to manually wire in VTEC and knock from the shock tower. I wouldn't use an OBD2 at all but use a chipped P28 ecu with an ITR rom. Then you'll eliminate the need to wire knock in at all.

thanks for the replies! i have one more question! if i use the jdm itr axles, will i need to buy a 36mm axle nut? If so, is that the part name? i tried searching for it but found parts called axles hubs so idk if those are it right there, once again thanks!

no, they WILL NOT fit into your car. They are made for a 5-lug, with a bigger hole with the splines. I specified this once already.

All you need is axles from a 94-01 Integra EXCEPT Type R

the 96-97 axles i thought were the same size as usdm. the big 4 was used until 1997 and in 1998 the jdm itr went 5 lug and to the larger axles. only the 98+ jdm itr uses the larger axles. all models usdm and the 96-97 jdm should be standard size
