Default My $20 Valve Spring Compressor tool

So I've been trying to finish up my cylinder head.. cleaned valves, power steam washed most of it since it was still fresh from the machine shop before this latest rebuild. Now its time to reinstall valves, springs, and retainers (HEAD OFF THE CAR). On to the pics...

here's my ebay tool..

process is quite simple

it goes where the shaft for the rockers go.. don't forget to lube the hole

valve waiting..

spring on..

retainer positioned

at this point my wife is getting ready to hold the opposite side of the head so it doesn't tip over. Also have a rag to support valve from underneath so it doesn't drop

slowly let go..

VOILA!

Hmm neat but it requires the removal of the rockers and re-install. I think
My 60$ snap on tool is simpler in the long run if you're just swapping springs an retainers. Along with the fact that it catches the keepers when you remove them.

That's an interesting tool, but how well does it work on the inner valves?

I don't quite understand what you mean... I have supertech valves, dual springs and retainers on mine. Compressing the springs was a breeze. In my case my head was off so I needed somebody to kinda hold it down while compressing.

I think he doesn't see that you would just use a long 3.8" extension.
