Default 05 Civic heat/cooling porblem

my 05 civic seems to be confused on when it wants to heat or cool. I turn the temp **** to heat and it blows cold sometimes and sometimes it works.
Anyone have a clue what it could be. Everything else seems to work correctly.

Thanks

Could be a bad thermostat, or a plugged radiator/heater core. Those are the most common reasons.

Sounds like a clogged heater core to me.
