Help - Hondata Launch Control w/o Speedo
I'm trying to get to the track before it closes for the year. After installing an Mfactory LSD my speedo isn't working. I'm not sure if it's my speed sensor or a different problem. I don't think I'll have time/money to fix the problem in the short term. Is there a way I can wire/hook up my hondata so launch control works without going off vehicle speed? Thanks
hey i guess you did the standard mistake while fitting the Mfactory LSD unit.
i bet you forgot to take the speedo gear off the old differential.
The Mfactory one doesnt have a new one on it,so you have to use the original from the old differential.
Just have a look at you old differential and you will know what i mean.
Unfortunatly its not possible with S300 to have a launch control without a working speedo.

Ok one thing is possible with the S300 i forgot to mention that.
Install a Clutch Switch , set it up @ launch control activation take the D4scs input.
evrytime the clutch is pressed the launch control is active, and when you let off the clutch its disabled.
i guess yungmulacrx ment that

Interesting. I tried to look into this and didn't find much. Can you tell me more on how to do this? I also saw I can use the AC switch.. My car has no AC so that's an option. Thanks

best thing would be using the AC switch input on your ECU when you dont have AC.
Take the wire that runs into the ECU its B5 on OBD1 and cut it,
take the cut wire coming from the ecu and wire it to your clutch switch and ground the other wire of the switch.
u can use a std brake light switch for example this one
http://www.amazon.com/Wells-JA413-Br...ges/B001KSIJTU
then after you set up the wiring, open up hondata with your calib file.
choose B5 ACS in the launch control activation drop down.
then for safe testing use 2000 rpm as limiter rpm, press the clutch and you should
be in launch control.
as soon as the clutch pedal goes back to normal position, the normal engine rev limit will be active.
hope this will help you out

Thanks. This does help. I may not have time to order a brake light switch, maybe I can get one from a local shop. If not I may try to run a simple toggle switch and mount it where I can shut it off after launching.
Nice. I like the ebrake set up. Seems pretty easy to wire in. Did you consider tapping into the ebrake light wire rather than running a second wire? Then you wouldn't have to press a button it would just turn off when the ebrake is down..
Good point.. I didn't think about the burnout.
I agree this is a patch fix and not the long term solution but I'm glad I can make it work until my speedo is fixed
