Transmission or Sensor issue???
Ok, I have a 91 Accord. As of right now I'm back to square one with it. I've replaced the TransmissionComputerUnit & TransmissionSensorUnit so far. And the results are the same. It fires right up, no problem. After driving a quarter mile for gas tonight, no problem. Came home, parked it, left again 5 minutes later everything seemed fine. But once again i started getting all rev and losing forward momentum. Reverse seems to not have gone out yet at all. But after driving it for less than 15 minutes i can hit the gas all day then tranny goes out as far as Drive is concerned. I've heard there is a tranny filter perhaps clogged? In the past, if i turned the car off then back on i would be able to drive a little further before it started slipping and going out completly, again. Looking into the whole tranny filter scenario i unfortunately discovered that my particular tranny only has an "internal" filter and not accessible without machine assistance. So, just to sum up my issue: I can start the car, drive very short distance before all it does is rev, but so far reverse has worked 100%. Please help, I really need and miss my car. Thanks!
Not really sure what you expect anyone to tell you other than what you already know. Your tranny is failing. Check around for a used jdm tranny that is the same as the one you already have or you can check prices from different auto shops in your area.
You can dry draining to remove the gunk. Also pull the shift solenoids and make sure they are not being clogged with junk. Strange R would work but the other gears do not. Check this link out on cleaning the solenoids http://techauto.awardspace.com/transmission.html
ok I do have question for anyone on here who knows there hondas im new to owning one and im trying to learn I know 4 cylinders pretty well just Hondas I know are a little different I have a 95 Honda accord ex vetch 1.8 and it idles a little high drives fine but idles high and engine light is on can this just be do to the throttle positioning sensor being bad or is this other major prob
You need to pull the check engine code. That will hopefully point you in the correct direction. If it's idling high when you start the car and it's cold that is normal. The idle is designed to come down as you warm the car up.
Guys I need some help. I have a 98 accord LX 4 cylinder automatic. I was spraying degreaser on the engine to clean it. I hopped in and noticed immediately that it was slipping from first to second. About a full second of delay before it switched into second.
I took it to auto zone and the fault code said something like pressure problem in transmission. I scoured this website for info and it seemed that my linear solenoid needed to be replaced. I bought a used one hoping that's all it was. It drove fine with exception of the slippage up until now. I replaced the solenoid today and tested it out. It still slipped.
When I pulled into my driveway, as I put it into park, it made a jolt and and a squealing noise. I put it into drive and the same noise happened and again back into park. I stopped it and popped the hood again. I pulled the other solenoid and checked it out thinking that one may be clogged but nothing on the screen on the inside.
I tried the flush and fill trick when it first started happening so I know that's not the issue. The fluid is still pink and at normal levels.
I was just about to sell the car when this happened so I REALLY don't want to have to put it in the shop!
Any suggestions would be GREAT!!
