You could just add the 2nd valve spring to your exisiting exhuast valves and call it a day.

Changing the valves may be a different stoey, as they are cut at a differetn angle meaning you have to get the head sent in to mtch up the seats

how much power to be gained, it would pretty much be the same, just be able to rev a touch higher

true. Replacing the valves without adding a new upgraded cams will only help you to rev
higher but you won't see a lot of gains other than revving to 8500 rpm.
Even replacing the valves with a set of flat valves will increase the CR by a hair and you
won't see any substantial gains for the work being done.

My .02 cents will be to spend that money on a air/fuel tune and maximize your actual engine setup. Save $ to get nice set of cams with an upgraded set of valve springs.

Personally, i think that retainers are a waste

Sure, the aftermarket ones are ever so slightley lighter, BUT, they are also softer, and really have no performance factor. The stock oem retainers are just fine, why spend more $$?

Most people upgrade valve springs to accomadate the lager more aggressive lobes on aftermarket cams and avoid valve float at higher rpm....every engine goes by these rules
