Default Da Integra with B18B Problem

Alright so I bought this 91 DA Integra Ls not too long ago. It is my first car and I absolutely fell in love with it but I probably should have looked at it better. The guy that had it was one of those bolt on parts guys and didn't take basic care of it. I mean the car needed an oil change BADLY. It was awful. But anyway I'm having this problem, so lets say I'm at a light and the car idles, well when I go to put it in first, it just dies and then wont start at all. I have to put my hazards on and sit there trying to get the car to start again. It clicks and clicks, rolls forward, try to throw it in first again, it completely dies, won't go into first and get going. It just started doing this. The battery light also goes on when the clutch is applied, that doesn't seem normal. But the car has gone through several engines, right now this is,according to the guy I bought it from, it's third engine. It has a b18b, so idk if that has anything to do with it screwing up, maybe something wasn't done properly. I just hope this isn't anything serious, if you guys could help me out that'd be great.

When you say, "It clicks and clicks" does that mean the starter "clicks" when you try and start it?

If so, check/redo your main ground and power connections, that means pull and clean the batt. terminals and cable clamps, disconnect and clean the batt. to chassis ground, [under the batt.] and the chassis to engine ground, [on a G2 that is one cable from the batt. to the chassis to the engine].

Do the same with the pos.(+) batt. connection to the starter motor and to the engine bay fuse box.94

Alright I'll look into that. But yeah at a light, it'll keep an idle, but then once you try to throw it in first to go, it just stalls each and every time, at first I thought it was me but it's not. Then when you try to turn the car back on because it stalled, the starter clicks and I just have to keep turning the key and turning it until it catches and turns on. I'd be stuck there for awhile, it's like the car just breaks down completely. But it only does this when I'm stopped at a light or in traffic. Someone told me it could be the clutch going bad or the alternator. But idk I'm not a mechanic so I don't know much.

Do you get any other wonky symptoms like gauges freakin out or the lights turning on (cel, brakes, turn signal, high beam, etc)

Bevause it sounds like you have a bad ground to your battery. Mine was so bad that giving it gas would make it sputter and flicking the lights on would make the car electrically "dead"

Nope no light problems and the gauges are fine. It doesn't just electrically die, it just stalls completely. I was actually told that there might be a dead spot on the flywheel. It has to be drive train related, but the clutch is fine, the car gets in gear easily. It's when you put it in gear it stalls most of the time. Sometimes the car would take off no problem but then other's it'd die, so could it be the flywheel?

It is not the fly wheel.

By "dead spot" I assume they mean missing teeth, and missing teeth would result in the engine not cranking and only if starter motor "lined up" with the missing teeth.

This is a differant problem, and you will need to find out what is missing, [lost] when engine stalls, spark, fuel or timing. 94
