Default milky white Cr@p in rad and some white smoke....

99 DX car over heated for maybe 2 minutes at best due to my rad hose blowing off and loosing a a good lot of my coolant. either way got home filled my car doesn't over heat however the temp gauge sits at half NOT just under it always sat a bit under even in stop and go traffic. Now my issue is there was that creamy goo in my rad and some white smoke after the incident along with lots of steam coming from the rad it's self. no goo on the oil cap tho HG or failed rad ? I've never had a car over heat on my so any input is great. my guess is HG even tho it doesn't over heat but it runs hotter then normal.

It seems apparent that you have fluids mixing with your coolant..
A failed radiator should not cause any kind of smoke, so you're most likely burning coolant.

I'm in the middle of doing the hg on my coupe and it's honestly not that bad.

good luck.

You could of easily warped your block or head. You need to change the thermostat and flush the system and change the oil. Then over next few weeks or days keep good eye on it and hope the HG isn't done for

pointless to change fluids if its already burning coolant you have problems pray its just the head and not the block

I've seen a ton a headgaskets fail after such and episode. Pull the head and send it to a machine shop to be checked and shaved. I doubt highly that the block was damaged at all

^^
I agree

Just get ready to swap the HG.

On the bright side, you can have the head shaved and gain a little more compression.

the car ran for a total of 10 minuets 2 of which were in the "over heating zone" but just under the H mark on the gauge. So I think my head and block are fine HG is most likely the one that came with the car back in 99 and the car has 356,xxxKM's ! so time for a new one. thx guys

do a compression test and a pressure test of the coolant system to find if there's a leak.

You'd have to mill a lot to make any significant difference in compression ratio.

At the very least have the head checked/milled. Also check the block surface with a straightedge and for erosion or defects. At 365K you may as well just do a rebuild (have block bored/resurfaced) or replace engine.

got home, topped of the coolant let it idle/went for a drive all good ! compression was 180,181,180,180 last time will check again tomorrow when it stop raining. again I was not even 500ft from my driveway when the hose blew off then I just reversed is up the road and shut if off and began adding coolant let it sit must have been hot still was in a very big hurry so I didn't have the time to let it cool and then try again. I ended up taking my teg instead so no harm done to my civic I see. the white smoke must have been due to the cold cause when I checked coolant level was the same

Then I hardly doubt you warped the head. I drove from the NY/ PA border to Richmond, VA in 104* weather with my car constantly overheating. and I didn't warp or hurt anything.
