Best way to burn multiple chips and datalog. Read so much stuff. What's true
I've read soon many different things. I have ostrich hulog and burn2. With sst chips... Can I datalog and burn as many chips as I want with crome pro??? I've heard yes an no. Why can't I buy ectune or Neptune. Load the tune to my ostrich. Then download it from ostrich to crome free or to my computer to a chip? There must be a way to do this it's 2013...
different programs use different software and interpret the coding differently, which is why they are not compatible. theoretically it should work because its converting to and from Honda ecu coding, but it doesn't work in reality.
yes, with crome pro you can datalog and burn as many chips as you want. I use the flashburn software to burn chips with the burn1 and burn2 chip burners though just out of habit

NepTune and Hondata S300 are the top of the market as far as Honda's go, I suggest either one of those. They are very similar and both have pro's and con's. I went Neptune on my personal, seems to be highly recommended from some of the best tuners around. But you cant really go wrong with Hondata.
I tune all of the above, Neptune, crome, and hondata. I have been using crome in my personal cars for almost a decade now, if that says anything. just built an entirely new car, finished 3 days ago, and I'm using crome in that as well.
there is nothing wrong with crome. there is plenty wrong though with a lot of the people who claim they know how to tune with crome. all tuning programs have their glitches on occasion, or lack of certain features, you just have to know how to get around them or how to use them. newer versions of crome are very comparable to Neptune and s300. older versions of crome lack several features, and had a few more glitches, but still worked flawlessly if you knew how to actually tune properly with it.
that said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with crome at all.
and more accurate: a tune and/or the program used for tuning, is only as good as the tuner.
crome pro: software: $130, hardware: $80-$200 depending on what you want.
Neptune: software: free, hardware $180-$200 if I remember correctly?
Hondata s300: software: free, hardware: $495

Neptune program with the Moates Demon data logger is $400. Software and hardware are from different companies. The RTP package come with the cost of hardware and program licence included together for one price. So you dont have to buy separate, which you can.
Hondata S300 are like $500
Keep in mind I was price checking online a week ago when I just bought mine.
Never priced chrome, but Il take your word on that since its your program of choice.

I edited the price for the crome hardware. it requires a $20 chip kit, a $35 datalogger, and a chip burner of choice, and an emulator for live tuning on the fly.
as for crome tunes going bad, there are many factors in that and it's not related to crome, it's simply blamed on crome by ignorant people: low quality chip, damaged chip, batteries in the emulator dying, static shock to the chip, poorly installed chip kit by inexperienced people claiming to be pro's at installing chip kits, damaged ecu simply from age or water or poorly installed chip kit, and several other less common possibilities.

The topic of this thread is, what is true? What is true is you get what you pay for.
Hondata/Neptune have way more features & nearly no software issues.
Crome is a alternate solution if you are on a budget & can work with the software.
You will see people post their own opinions here and there about how crome doesn't have issues & it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Look at the facts, most tuners which actually tune vehicles for a living prefer to tune on hondata & neptune. There is a reason for it...
yes very true
also very true
I tune crome and hondata quite often, Neptune not so much. I prefer tuning hondata myself, mostly due to the extra features it offers. but regarding crome, I have not encountered a single issue of any type in at least 5 years now
