Default Burning Ostrich tune onto chip?

I have been wanting to tune a couple car I have but don't want to buy 2 emulators to do it. I would like to tune both cars with the same ECU and emulator then burn the tune onto a chip and install the chip in another ECU. I have read mixed reviews on wether or not this is possible. If it is what program could I use and what steps would I take to do this right.
I have been looking at an Ostrich 2.0 and chip burner with the appropriate software to make it all work.

Most of the software has tuner capabilities where you pay for each ROM.

As far as I know the only one that might still allow you to tune multiple ECU's with the Ostrich and burning chips would be Crome Pro.

How would it know the difference from one chip to the next?

That is where a chip burner/reader would come in handy. There is really no other way to find out what data has been copied to one of these 28 pin EEPROM chips.

So the emulator/Ostrich can be plugged into the burner reader and you can pull the tune that way? Then I assume u could then take said tune and save it to another chip?

What tuning software are you using?

If it is anything that requires an emulator license you won't be able to do that. The tune will only work on one Ostrich/emulator. Some software puts a reg string in the hex code that will not allow it to work on an external chip or second Ostrich/emulator.

If you are using Chrome, I believe you can save the ROM from the emulator to your PC. Then you can burn the ROM from the PC to a chip via a chip burner. I just left my Ostrich plugged in though.

I don't have the software yet but I have read Neptune is far superior over Crome. Is Crome really that hard to work with? And is Neptune worth the added features? My main goal here is to get the best tune I can, can Crome tune as well as Neptune?

Have to wait for someone else to chime in on this one. I have only ever used Uberdata, Crome Pro, eCtune and TunerStudio (MegaSquirt). Haven't had the oportunity to use Neptune yet... Crome and eCtune worked well enough for me. No support for eCtune anymore. Crome still has it's share of supporters if you look around.

Does Crome Pro have the code/disable feature like Neptune? I really like the idea of the ECU not even responding without a code first. Don't want all my hard work to get away that easy.

NepTune no longer supports chips, only the Moates Demon 1/2.

Are you trying to tune multiple cars of your own, or tying to make some money?

My own cars, I got a Del Sol and SE Integra I put all motor B18's in and the VAFC can only go so far... NTM I don't have the time or patience to deal with someone else's car..
Neptune can't program chips at all?? Guess that help make a decision... So has anyone tried tuning an Ostrich on Crome Pro and then burning the ROM onto a chip with success?

Yes you can do it with Crome Pro and the ostrich... I used to do it all the time! Tune the car with the Ostrich/romulator and save the .bin file. Then hook up a chip burner and buffer that bin file onto a 28 pin EEPROM chip, plug it into the ECU and all should be good.

Not sure about Crome Gold tunes though, there may be some way!

Fantastic! That's what I wanted to hear. BTW what's Crome Gold? I assume a better version of Crome, but what's the difference between Crome Pro and Gold?

Neptune supports chips if you're a dealer. However it does not support the ostrich, specifically for this reason. On the other hand, it's worth every penny to use Neptune.

You can only use the Crome Gold on1 single ostrich. Once there is a tune on an ostrich, theres no way to save it anymore. I had an old computer with an early license and as long as you pulled the tune off the ostrich and made a change, you could save it and then burn it to a chip. But i had to get a new computer and a new license. And with the new license, on a Gold base you can only use it with a single ostrich. you can no longer pull the tune off the ostrich and save it. Even the new software wont allow me to even open my old Gold base tunes. Its such a pain in the ***. Gold gives you a lot more options and is a little more user friendly and allows you to set up a antilag. But if you can afford it, Neptune is BY FAR the best stuff out for the money. You would just have to have 2 licenses and 2 demons.

if you're a reputable tuner, look into Netune's dealer option. otherwise just consider it a sound investment. a proper tune will ALWAYS be cheaper than a new engine.
