98 Rear Strut Job - Broken Bolt (Safe to drive?)
Hi All,
I was putting on some new struts this weekend and the front was a breeze. Then came the back... I managed to snap this bolt off. About 2/3-3/4 of the bolt is left inside. The car sits fine on it for now. My question is that do you think it is safe to drive it a couple miles to the mechanic to get it fixed?

If break is after the bolt that's welded onto the shock in other words there's no threading on the part of the bolt that's broken of then I wouldn't seeing as there wouldn't be anything holding it in. safe to drive to a shop...sure just be careful or just get a used shock and go from there then you can bypass the need for a shop
I've done the same and if you just snapped the head off the bolt, you should be fine as B_swapped said just be safe and drive SLOW!
Do you have a picture of the break?

Thanks for the feed back everyone. The head of the bolt snapped so it is still fully threaded and has about 2/3 left still in there.
