could messed up relay causing no sparks?
continue from my dilema

I checked the fuses in the main relay and under the dash. No blown fuses @ all. HOwever, would messed up relay causing no sparks to the engine? And ground wire as well?

Take out your spark plugs and clean them up really good. Or just buy some new ones. How do you know there is no spark? Are you pulling the plug and grounding the side and watching for spark? When you do this put your thumb in the plug hole and when you feel compression is that when your plug is sparking? Are your plug wires on in the right order? Have you tried resetting the ECU?
Not sure, but you can test your main relay by the process outlined here:

i tested on a brand new spark plug (pulled one spark plug wire out, attach a new spark plug, and put it close to the metal where it grounds). Nada, no spark @ all.
I just read the relay thing...are all relay's the same on 88~91 regardless is b16 or d16?

Sheesh.. That page makes checking the relay so difficult.. And for the average JOE who doesn't have a multimeter there's always the other way checking it..
Connect power to terminal 4 and ground to terminal 8.. And instead of checking for continuity from terminal 5 and 7, just listen or feel for a little click.. If you hear or feel a click move on. Connect power to terminal 5 and ground to terminal 2. Did you hear or feel another click?.. If so you've got continuity through the entire relay end of story..
Now if you really want to get **** about it.. You can connect power to terminal 4 and ground to terminal 8. Next connect the battery power to terminal 5 and ground terminal 7. Take a voltmeter and check for source voltage at terminal 5. You should read something like 12.6V.. Now got to terminal 7 and check for source voltage there.. You should have 12.6V or whatever reading you got from the first test. If the readings differ, you've got excessive resistance in the points of the relay..
Just thought I'd help clear a few things up.. If it was me reading it a few months back, it would've gone right over my head...
