Default 99 hatch w/ 01 b18b1 no start.

My car is a dx 99 civic hatch with an 01 b18b1 swapped in using stock y7 harness. Obd 2 sensors all were removed. 2 wire iacv. Using b18 iat not d16 one. Re pinned dizzy plug

Ecu is a chipped p28 with obd1 jumper and a phearable chip.
All new oem cap/rotor/ngk plugs/wires.

I can hear fuel pump prime. Car had 6 month old 1/8 tank of gas. I added 2 gal of 93 octane and a bottle of water remover today cuz I figured old gas was junk.

I checked plugs and they do smell of gas and are very light coated of brown from cranking but it wipes off clean. I tried some starter fluid an hour ago and no change. (Why I think it's the fuel)

I checked rotor with crank pulley marks for timing and its ok. Lined up right. Dizzy is centered as it was before. 7.5 amp backup fuse is ok

Tomorrow I'm gonna pull the VC and x3 check timing.

Any ideas?

Ill show pic of plugs tomorrow.

Dash -- You'll find fuse box diagrams in the FAQs sticky. Or on the inside/outside of the lid for each.

Check the spark. Do you have any? What color is it? Weak spark will not ignite the air/fuel mixture.

And you(OP) tried to give me **** for asking why my wheel randomly wobbled . confirm spark and what it is you say it's getting fuel, ok does it crank/stumble ?. chipped p28 on a stock b18b1 is beyond me imo pointless. I'm blaming the ECU can you try THE PROPER one for your engine

Look here you, I have a p28 ecu and the reason it's chipped is because I dont need any other ecu(s) my ecu with a chip can run ANY setup it's programmed for. Why would I need to buy ecu after ecu? I only need 1. I asked phearable if it mattered that I had a vtec ecu on a non vtec motor. They said as long as its chipped for my application I'm fine. I HAVE THE PROPER ECU SETUP FOR MY MOTOR/PARTS. Car cranks. It does not stumble. It also sat since mid march with 1/8 tank of gas.

Marc, reason why I have it is because I use cel shift light, 2 step and no lift shifts when I drag it at the track.

check spark then fuel if you're getting both then look into timing and possibly plug firing order(mixed up wires). As for the ECU it may be ok to run it on nonvtec b series with bolt ons/stock but you wouldn't be able to use it on an LSV or GSR the way you worded it seems like you're suggesting that any chipped ECU p28,p72 etc. can be used on non-vtec as well as vtec engine set ups.

Yes any obd1 ecu that's vtec can be chipped to run both non and vtec setups, but not the other way around. You can however use for example a p06, add vtec and chip it then use it for lsv. I have confirmed this.

My future plans are a lsv then lsvT.

I though you were saying that ONE "chip" it's self could be used for ANY set up glad you cleared it up. That's more what I meant when I said "ECU" I was referring to the chip it's self, phearable... I've never dealt with them but have heard of them making bad maps here and there just like any tuner.

I used the right tool to test spark. Good on spark. Rechecking timing now as I'm pulling the VC.

so you have fuel and spark so that rules out alot of small problems check compression next after timing

Quick question: what color is the spark?

Just realized back when I got the motor, the dizzy cam key was taken off cuz my buddy needed one prior to selling it to me. So I bought one and I just had the dumb realization it's probably on 180* out. I'm gonna check it tomorrow
