Default B20B/vtec question

i was reading an article in an old honda tuning magazine and it said that the regular b20b from a crv puts out 126 horses. my question is, how does adding the vtec head add so muh power to hte engine. i know there are a lot of things that factr into the performance, but i've seen most dynoing at around 180-190 to the ground. can someone explain this to me. thanks

high air flow from the VTEC head. And the high torque from the non vtec block.

You might want to post this in the Tech forum. Basically, youre increasing flow rate in the head and higher compression (when changing over to high compression pistons). Why does a Type R have more HP than a GSR? Higher compression and a better flowing head...
