1999 Honda Civic Special Edition Sedan
I am asking this because my dome light does not work when doors are opened, and my factory keyless is dead. The cabling between the doors and the fender were destroyed in the driver side fender, so I just ran my own cabling for my stereo.

Ever since the wiring harness was destroyed, the dome light never turned on again (when any door opened). I removed the keyless fuses too (to avoid a short circuit). Now, I'm running my own wires from the door actuators to a new remote starter I am installing to get it back. The alarm has domelight supervision, and I am wondering if it is possible to get it turn on when I unlock the car.
Does anyone know if this will work? And does anyone have a wiring diagram for the factory keyless? (So I can plug in the horn, parking lights, etc.)


The car does chime when I open the driver door with the key in the ignition.

fix your wiring. The dome light comes on when you unlock the car with keyless.

 

Check that door trigger pin to ensure the ground and hot is good (make sure the fuse is good).
