AEM EMS 1040 How to setup IAB's
I have been looking around for a while and still can't figure out how to do this. I have a 93 Civic Si with a 94 GSR engine. I just picked up an AEM EMS Series 1, 30-1040. I haven't yet figured out how to control the IAB's. I read a few posts that I didn't understand, I am not a really big computer person.
Is there an IAB adjustment in AEMpro or do I have to program and re-wire to make it work?
Any help would be great!
Thanks

There is no IAB setting, you need to program an output.
BUT if you're using a 94 GSR engine harness with the OEM IAB plug, one side of that plug is hot and the ground is in the ECU which you can't replicate with the EMS.
SO you'll need to use an automotive 12v SPDT relay.
Relay tab 85 goes to the EMS output of choice, and tab 86 goes to ground.
Relay tab 30 goes to the original IAB wire (pink usually) and tab 87 to ground.

OR you can just upgrade the manifold and forget all that stupid sh*t

I plan to pick up a JRSC supercharger in the future but that isn't until later this winter at the earliest. But I want to get the factory intake working in the mean time.
Yeah you can use the nitrous outputs, just disable the arming condition if your version has that option. The pinouts should be in the manual, you should be able to access it under the help menu in AEMTuner.
Inverted output means the output is "normally" powered, and to engage IAB you turn power off. For most relays and IAB solenoids this doesn't need to be inverted, I think it was only the '98+ GSR that was inverted. If the IAB is open at idle (with no power to the solenoid), it's inverted.
