wanted: 1/4 mile times for b20 in 6th gen civic
ok i am a pretty good driver and am thinking about doing a b20 in my civic i was wondering what some common 1/4 mile times are for this swap with and without a vtec head??
i too am intrested. got the car(97 hatch)
,got the motor (97 b20b4), need tranny
,this is going to be a pain to find in good condition
you should be able to run close to a 15.4 ive seen a 15.2 in a hx coupe before, but with my b20 the wheels spin through first and pretty much into second, on my stocker steelies, so if you have wider tires and some sorta suspension work you should be running closer to the 15.2
here is a general idea for you
my whole setup (weight, parts, etc) is on my page...
with qtr mile time slips etc...

14.8 w/street tires (vehicle and driver total weight 2450.00)

thanks alot guys this really helped alot in my final decision i am ordering the motor, and i found an ls tranny and ecu, not sure bout vtec head yet it just seems expensive and extensive and i have a limited budget i will probly boost the motor and sometime down the road do the Frankenstein
I know this is a non-VTEC B20 post, but my friends CRVTEC on this vid just has high compression JE pistons, Portflow GSR head, CTR intake cam, Skunk2 manifold, RC 310's, ITR ECU with VAFC. 12.62@107 all motor daily driven EK. http://www.engr.orst.edu/~uyemuraa/ This is just a little video I put together but yea. You can see the Chan in his EK from the inside. Right click and save target as on Ground Zero video1

Don't worry what other people might say you'll run. The only way to know is to race the car yourself. So get out there and drag the mug!!!!
well seeing this old post makes me happy to say i now have a tranny out of a 99 ls. And special ed get a life if you dont have nothing better to do than get on here and bitch about these useless post then dont waste band width bitching about it. And if you would look at his question he is looking to buy one and I dont know about you I don't have the money to go buy a moter tranny and all the crap to install it and then find out that i dont like the set up. If you do have that kind of money then IM me i need a loan for a few thousand $ to finish the swap I am working on and then if I dont like it ill IM you back and you can have it shipped to your house and that will be you payment. Just a thought
Nippon Motors has them for $800+ shipping, but around my way at some of these importes they are usually asking $1000-1200
