Stalls after reaching operating temperature.
I've got a 1995 Honda Accord DX. Starts great and runs fine until it gets up to normal operating temperature. Then it will stall when coming to a stop. When it stalls it will start up just fine. I've replaced the PCV valve, cleaned the throttle housing, cleaned the IAC and no codes showing up. I replaced the O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold about a year ago. I may replace the fuel filter but I'm pretty sure I replaced it not too long ago. If it wasn't fuel injected I'd think I have a vapor lock situation. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Lean mixture perhaps? That's what comes to my mind. If it runs fine cold then that may be the reason. A cold engine runs rich so it warms up quick and doesn't die. So when the ECU leans out the mixture it might become too lean.
after the car warms up pull the oxygen sensor connector and engine code will throw a code for it...it's ok that's what you want...if it runs fine without stalling the issue is in the oxygen sensor circuit....if so, i would start with seafoaming to check for an exhaust leak from exhaust manifold to just past the oxygen sensor...if present fix leak and now replace oxygen sensor since it's now bad
if the car still runs bad after pulling the oxygen sensor connector the issue lies elsewhere
