Default My Brakes are smoking...

I just had my front rotors replaced, and my brake pads all around replaced as well. It is working great, and it is a lot smoother since my rotors in front were warpped. However, when I was testing the car, I noticed that the brakes were smoking...Is this normal, since the pads and rotors are new?

I spent $380.00 for new front rotors + pad in front (organic) + Pads in the rear (Metallic) + labor...Does this sound about right or did I pay too much. By the way, it is in MA where cost of living is a bit higher....

Any thoughts welcome! Thanks!

You should've sprung for the semi-metallics. That's probably why your brakes are smoking/dusting so bad.

Does it really matter what it costs? You already paid for it. Have a beer and call it a week...

Mine smoked a little when new. They are just wearing into the rotors. Why would you buy organic for the front? Those do 75% of the braking.

My front brake smell like burning plastic too.
I have no idea what kind are they since my dad took care of it.

Don't worry about it. Let 'em seat in and it'll go away in a bit.

thats normal for new pads. don't push them too hard just yet though. they have to be bedded in properly. if they are still snoking liek that they are very prone to sudden brake fade.

yeah, I know I should, but this is just a street car, and I was in a hurry to get the job done for a weekend trip....

Yup, just got back from the weekend trip, and it does not smoke anymore. Just smells a bit, which I think is normal.

The brakes are great now...no more pulsating in the pedal, and it stops very well!
