Code 23 Knock Sensor CEL after 15 min.
I first got the code 23 back in 2010 and I knew my B16A CRX had the OEM knock sensor. That time, my Cel 23 will turn on every 5 min. I replaced it with OMNI Power knock sensor and the car ran fine since then. It recently started to get CEL 23 again after running for 15 min but once I turn off the ignition and restart it, the code will sometime turn on or not after 15 min. Anyone had similar problem? I thought the jumper harness was causing the issue so I replace it with another one but the CEL still turn on after 15 min of driving.
The checks for code 23 are pretty simple it does require however to use a good known KS.
1. Check and make sure the wire going from the knock sensor to the ECU has continuity. I'd also check and make sure the wire has good connection at both points.
2. Replace the KS with agood known unit. Let the engine warm up to operating temp. Hold the throttle steady at 3-4k for 10 secs. If the code is not thrown the original KS is bad. If it is thrown see #3
3. Try a good known ECU to see if the code returns.

Thanks for the reply.
I did purchase and replace the Knock sensor with a new one but the code still came up after 15 min.
I'll be replacing the knock sensor plug with another one and see if that will solve the problem. At the same time, I'll be replacing my JDM P30 ECU with the USDM P30...
