No start, 1990 DX
Ok, here is where I'm at:
I have a 1990 Honda civic DX hatchback, it hasn't started for about 3 weeks now. I was pulling out of a parking spot and it lugged and died. No previous problems before that. I had about a half a tank of gas. I had AAA tow it to my house. The first thing I did was replace the fuel filter. It was quick and easy although I accidently bent the fitting on one of the lines. It took me until today to find that part (5 bucks at a junk yard). The fuel filter didn't do the trick so I replaced the fuel pump knowing that a few months ago when I checked it, it was a little spotty. That didn't do it. So I checked the timing, spot on. Then I moved to spark, replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I have good spark, still no start. So today I sprayed starter fluid into the throttle body and still nothing but a few backfires. I am really stumped.
Will someone please help me?

Stop randomly replacing parts. Your approach is ridiculous.
Do in this order, and post outcome after doing each test:
Do in this order, and post outcome after doing each test:
- Does the starter crank the engine strongly? If so, move to next step.
- Listen for whether the fuel pump primes.
- Check for spark at all 4 plugs.
- Check for CEL codes.
- Check the mechanical timing.
- Compression test the cylinders.

If anything it might be something that's loose making false contact. If you're not getting any engine codes then the problem is beyond the self-diagnosis system and is most likely caused by wiring. By now these cars are old and some were not very well taken care off. It would be wise to maybe check the fuel injector circuit, if it happens to be FI.
