Compression test it just to see if it's down on power. 2nd budget to gain hp ? imo i'd save and boost I see trying to go all motor ina GSR is dumb as **** and in retrospect I should have saved and boosted . so here's what you can do b16/itr pistons then tuner 2/3 cams from skunk. then get it properly tuned or boost it.

Thoughts about what?

Tons of builds out there. Thousands of builds with that particular motor either way.

Best to get a better goal of what you want to do, what type of power you expect/want to make, browse other builds, and most importantly...have a budget.

Lol really? You think he should get higher comp pistons and Then boost it?
And at that, stock cast pistons to have better chances of melting them.

Also I see the "or" which is a good contradiction to what you're trying to say.
You should search just as much as the op when it comes to anything it seems ..

To add to the op's question though, Yes your car does feel like a "turd" because they're slow stock.
Nothing you can do with bolt-ons will make it fast either.
Unless you want to open up your wallet, and do some serious work it'll continue being slow.

Go read through the F/I faqs, and then when you're done. Read them again.

Stock motor, and boost. You can easily get there if it's healthy.
