Probably a noob question, but I wanted to know how to tell if the b20b engine I purchased is from the 96-98 crv, or the 99-01 crv. I know it came with the LS cylinder head.

Look for a knock sensor on the engine by the oil filter. The higher compression B20Bs and Zs all came with one. Google it so you know what it looks like.

look at the head stamping and it should tell you the year it was made.
