I just picked up a 99 b20b with a knock sensor and has a p75 head I'm pretty sure its a high comp but just want to double check because im confused from what other ht threads state...

99 - 2001 B20b and B20z were high compression B20 motors

Yea I thought so bro... The only thing that tripped me out was the p75 head on it.. Thanks for the reply

Yeah the B20's used that head, some came with a P8R head and they were bored out a little more.

Well....true, but he was refering to the other B20's with 8:8:1 (if I remember correctly).

Also, most of the high high comp b20 engine have the low rise intake manifold

I believe the high comp b20b's and b20z's are the same. It's the P8R that you want.

You know what is dumb? It is the fact that the P8R head was older, and only came on the lower compression models, go figure

A wicked setup would be to have the newer 99+ jdm B20 or usdm B20Z, head swapped with the older P8R design. I was going to do this myself with my old setup, i even has an LS Jackson Racing supercharger for it, but sold off my hatch as the quarter panels were beginning to rust, so i never finished it

But isnt the P8R head have a combustion chamber of 84mm and other B20's and B18's 81mm? how do you get that to work unless you resleeve and bore?

how can i find out if my 91 civic hatch si with b20b is the b20b or the b20z? because mine has a diff intake. i dnt want to do a compression test if i dnt have to any help?

Just look at thre year stamping on the head, 1999+ are high comp versions

what about the 96-98 b20b? how can you tell if its high or low comp??

its low. thats why they said 99+ b20's are high compression.
