Wiring issues with 98 spec B18C swap in 95 GSR?
Hey guys, just recently joined this forum as it was long overdue for me always being a lurker and whatnot.
I ran into a couple of problems yesterday with my B18C swap. I bought a 96-01 VTEC harness like many people recommended, mine in particular being a 97 GSR harness. The car starts up with the harness which is great! However I have a couple issues where while hitting the gas it stumbles and bogs out. It seems that although the IACV is plugged in, it is not reading, and causes the car to bug out and die. I have a Hondata S300 running a JDM Type R base map so that should be ruled out of being a cause, however I can always double check.
Is it possible that the 97 GSR harness isn't compatible? This is a 98 spec B18C swap into a 95 GSR, so basically using an OBD2 engine harness to an OBD1 main harness, which from various write-ups I confirmed was supposed to be possible with no modifications needed. Any ideas would be wonderful, I'd like to have the car back on the road the latest by Wednesday!

Make sure you have the right plug in the iacv, there's two of them that are identical.
Plugging the wrong one in will make it have a lumpy idle that doesn't like to run, same as unplugged I think.
And the only reason you need the obd2 engine harness is for some of the extra things on the motor.
Such as the distributor/injectors/alternator, but since you have the obd2 harness its no big deal.
