Mini swap help!!!

Default Mini swap help!!!

Hello everbody so I have a d16y7 motor and im trying to get a y8 head on it..will the y7 intake manifold fit or will i need a y8 mani??? any help and feedback is a appreciated. thanks in advance

If you want to use the P2P ecu (assuming your car is a manual) then yes you'll have to use the manual Y8 manifold and manual Y8 throttle body.

thats crazy^^ i didnt know that.. you mind if i ask why? whats the difference in the auto IM and TB?

Because the manual P2P uses a 2 wire IACV (idle air control valve), the auto Y8 manifold doesn't have the holes for it. Only the manual Y8 manifold uses a 2 wire IACV.

Yeah you can make the Y7 intake work but why would anyone even bother. Just use the Y8 intake you should be able to find a complete one for pretty cheap. I just sold a complete Z6 P32 intake for $50.

Thanks everyone my car us currently automatic but will be stick shift soon so i might as well go with a full swap..I know im asking a bunch of noob questions lol..what do you guys think?? And if I do a complete swap should i stay d-series or go b or k series or the s2k engine??
