So i have an ls trans that is ruining my life! Its stuck in 5th gear i think... i can shift into all gears except 5th with the car on and off and if i shift to neutral and let out the clutch it stalls wtf? And With the car off in neutral if you push it it still wont move... It wont move even with the clutch pressed in so im losing my mind... Lol This is my daily so i need help badly!

How old are your clutch and pressure plate?

 

Brand new

 

Sounds like there is some damage to the 5th/reverse parts. If you let out in neutral and the cars is moving there is some issues in the trans. 5th is the first to suffer if the oil is low so check for leaks.

 

No leaks and oil is good... Im guessing its inside.... Maybe a bent shift fork? i bought the trans from some kid who said he rebuilt it... All the gears.and syncros looked good so im not sure what it could be

 

I have found so many screwed up stuff from goober rebuilds. I avoid things that "the kid rebuilt it". Take it back apart and go through it piece by piece. It's not right.

 

Yea thats tomorrows project... Im almost about to just go buy another trans... Im running out of time and money lol but mostly time cause school is in a week
