Post Timing belt Crank/position, oil pump arrow which line/pulley red or white???

Im putting back my d16z6 engine that has been rebuild. okay im trying to figure out what crank groove to line up with the oil pump arrow?
there are two grooves two in the front of the crank gear and only one behind the crank gear. is there supossed to be two grooves??? wtf??
the book says to line up with the oil pump arrow.

okay i did line up with the first arrow on the left side closest to the keyway slot . and checked put on the TB cover/ with the crank pulley on.
that groove with the cover TB arrow lines up with the red mark on the pulley??

then i removed the pulley/TB cover and re position the crank gear groove closest to the right grove.
i put the TB cover on, Crank pulley

THIS time it lines up with the White line with the Timing Belt cover arrow??

which groove do i line up with the crank gear to oil pump arrow there is two.

and if i choose on or the other.

when putting TB cover and crank pulley one goes to the red/ and one goes to the White mark???

please help me

Thank You....

I believe there is a single mark on the crank "gear" (the part that has teeth for the timing belt). That mark lines up with an arrow cast onto the oil pump housing. The crank pulley shouldn't be involved at all in this process.
The crank pulley marks are used for ignition timing.
Your post is confusing to read, so I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you are trying to say.

Make sure you have no slop between points 1 and 4 in the diagram. When everything is in postion you must rotate the crank counter clockwise so that 3 teeth of the cam gear pass a fixed point, then tighten the tensioner. It is critical that your tensioner be able to move/slide freely (a little oil behind it helps). Use a torque wrench and torque everything to spec (especially the tensioner and crank pulley bolts). If you replaced the water pump you should have a smaller torque wrench to torque those bolts (in order) to spec (otherwise it will leak). It is very easy to destroy expensive parts of your engine or the entire engine if you don't do this correctly.

Some of those photos above apply to different engines.

Ok heres the pic i was referring to MY CRANKSHAFT GEAR D16z6 with an arrow. It
Has TWO got dam Grooves. A left groove and a right groove.

Which groove do i use??????

Okay i experimented each Groove.
When lining up the groove with the arrow on the Left it went to the RED LINE when i put the cover/pulley on just to see where it will line up to.

when using the Right side groove = when putting cover/pulley on It goes to the White Line on the crank pulley?????
the back of the right groove gear has another groove. but the left don't???

This confused me so much which groove should it be in.
also look at the pulley keyway is that still useable.
Which line do i use Left groove/Middle of both gear teeth/ or right groove???

wtf???

PICS IS UP

Why don't you skip the oil pump arrow altogether and use the main pulley and timing belt cover to set TDC? You can also verify if it's at TDC visually by sticking the dipstick in the #1 spark plug hole and watching it as you turn the crank.

Right most line (in the picture above its the white line). The three lines grouped to the left are used for the ignition timing (pictured above its the red line with a line on either side of it).

Also just had a quick idea, do the oil dip stick trick to verify TDC and see where the crank gear you pictured ends up. My guess is the left mark, reason being is I've never seen a crank at TDC where the key isn't perfectly vertical.

okay i found out the TDC. i don't have the head on. but with just the block bare i watched the piston move.
okay i turned the engine turnning it right turn. the left mark when i go past it it started to go up. and when on the right side mark on the crank gear. its TDC the highest the piston ever went . when the left side mark
its lower than when i turn it to the right mark..

So am i correct i saw it go the highest when using the right side groove. also its on the white TDC. crank pulley when using the right side groove???

I posted a photo of the Honda service manual for D16Z6. Can't explain it any better than that.
