b16a wont start!!
So I connected all my wires. From my obd0 mpfi d16a6 engine harness and my d16a6 injectos..
And I connected all my grounds thanks to a guide recently posted up.
When i crank my engine it doesn't start and my battery smokes. The negitive throws out smoke as if burning!! Help please

Okay so after checking... with my test light my cable cover has positive energy.. which should be ground?!!!! The chassis also has positive !! And the main wire on my engine harness has.positive.. why would this be !!
I know my valve cover should be ground. And chassis also... any idea what wires I got messed up to cause this

can you there me where my terminal connects are meant to connect to I am very lost on that part. but I do have my grounds done
1 on valve cover from chassis.
2 alternator on top
then I'm lose which wire connects to the starter if ground or positve

You should have a wire from your + battery terminal that runs to your starter. Then the smaller "female" clip plugs onto your starter (which is the starter signal).
I think what zrickety is saying, make sure you have the +&- plugged into the right spot on the battery. I dont know of any other place you would be getting +power to the chassis.
And make sure that if your stock injectors used a resistor box to use it with this setup too

this is what I have so far. bare with me as I'll try to explain as best possible.
battery has (+) & (-)
my (+) terminal has 2 branch wires.
1) one thats longer goes to the starter bolted on.
2) the second one that's shorter goes to the engine bay fuse box. and hops over to the engine bay harness.
the engine bay harness goes down and connects to the thermostat
then further down and connects to the alternator.
the fuse box has (+) energy.
the thermostat has (+) energy .
the alternator I didn't check but I'm assuming it also has (+) also I've heard it needs to be (+)
the chassis has (+) I've checked the radiator support & shock tower .
the valve cover also has (+).
then the (-) terminal from the battery goes down as a single cable. connecting to the thermostat (but IM going to change it to the clutch cable bracket as I've seen on my other ef)
that a the only (-) I have. I was told there is another cable that jumps from the transmisson to the chassis. which I haven't done due to rainy day.
lastly I tried to switch the battery around having the (-) on the (+) terminal and the (+) on the (-) terminal.
I didn't hear at all my fuel pump prime on. and none of my engine bay fuses have been blown.

The thermostat connector is a ground (-) for the ecu
And the one on the valve cover is a ground (-) too.
These are probably where you are getting +power when they should be a - ground
If you would like, PM me your cell # and i can send you some pics of how mine is. And maybe you will find what is not right with yours

exactly I've read that thermostat is (-) for the ecu. and valve cover is also (-) as a back up.
my question is what did I hook up that makes it become (+) ?? and sure thing man please do 5612616633
