did i fill up too much oil??

Icon2 did i fill up too much oil??

i followed this chart to do oil change on my 04 ex but on the dip stick my oil is about inch above to top mark....

i put about 4 qt of oil in totall..

Did i overfill ?? should i leave it alone or take some out..

If you're over the Max Fill line when the engine is cold, then yes... there's too much oil in the system.

the exact amount to change during an oil change for the EX motor is 3.7qt. this includes the capacity of a new and dry oil filter as well. i usually do 3.75qt and this fills it right to the max fill dot on the dipstick after i let the motor for for a minute. 4qt is too much. drain some into a clean oil pan and re-add necessary.

i noticed that oil is about a inch above the top mark when egnine is cold. but wen i warm the engine and checked for oil again its only abt a cm above the top mark.. should i still be worried?
