94 accord side marker signals not working
Hello everyone. Recently got this 1994 accord LX 4cyl. One day I noticed the passenger side marker was on. The car had been sitting there at work and ppl kept calling me telling me i left the lights on. That was the only light I found on when I checked on the car. Since then it did it a couple more times and then stopped. Now I noticed that neither side marker signal is working. Only the parking lamp on the side marker. From some research it seems that I am having a problem with the ICU. Is this something I can fix or should I just hit the scrap yard?
YOU ARE THE FIRST PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS DAMN ISSUE OTHER THAN MYSELF! Passenger side marker light, one single bulb, stays on even if the fuse is pulled. Its so freaking weird and hard to diagnose.
My right front park light does the same thing. I can pull the 7.5 amp interior light fuse and it goes off. But then after a few weeks it stays on again. I thought it was something to do with the aftermarket security system I had installed, but now I don't know.
From research I have found that those are controlled by the ICU as I had mentioned and not on the same circuit as the bumper signal lights or the rear signal lights. I believe replacing or repairing the ICU is the only way to fix it. I may just rewire them to get them working and leave the ICU alone. Kind of like if u add some fender marker lights.
Its a brown box right above the fuses. Mine are working now and I will tell the story of how I think I fixed it.
I got the car used and installed in the car was a 12v accessory socket. I liked it because it was always hot, unlike the OEM socket. Anyways, I noticed sometimes it didn't work but never got around to checking it. This morning I get in and I had my GPS charger plugged into the socket. I noticed when I turned the lights on the LED on the charger turned off. So at this time I realized they hooked up the ground to the parking lights. So tonight I decided to fix it and check the ICU. I found that they got power and what they thought was ground from the unused connectors on the fuse box. So I took the ground off (which was actually hooked into the parking light circuit) and grounded it to a bolt. I then too off the ICU and opened it up to look and see if I can spot an issue. It looked good inside so I put it back in and thought, hmmmmm, maybe it was that accessory socket. So i check the lights and they are working properly again. I hope that was the issue.
I know a lot of shops use those unused ports on the fuse box when installing an aftermarket alarm. If you have an aftermarket alarm installed, you may want to check this out. Then again, this all may have been a coincidence tonight. I'll keep an eye on them and see what happens.

I have an aftermarket alarm system and that is where they hooked it up. Lately the park light hasn't come on. But Wednesday I had been working around the air conditioning compressor and I was checking the circuitry of the relay with a lighted probe for continuity. I found that when I touched one of the contacts on the plug the door locks activated. I have no idea why that would be because it would have to receive it's voltage through the light. Strange. But since there wasn't a problem, I didn't try to fix it. But if the light comes on again I will know where to look.

Similar type of spurious electrical problems here. I have a 91 that I just purchased for my daughter to drive to school. The car runs great with one major exception. I have a significant lighting issue. None of the following are working at all: instrument cluster, license, marker, park, tail or cruise control. After digging through my Haynes manual they all have a couple of things in common, primarily the Red/Black and Black wires, they all go through Junction B as well. There was an aftermarket Viper alarm system tied into it which I have since removed. Additionally there is an aftermarket radio that appears to be working correctly. I would think that there is a ground issue as the common, but on the harness coming out from the fire wall, they tied the alarm "door/lock" circuit into the red/black and black wires. They spliced into them, but I cant find where they may have severed the other half or reattached the other half of those two wires. Any ideas on how I can read out for continuity or better yet check for voltage? I am at a loss. (Personal back ground Im an avionics tech, so I am fairly proficient with test tools and theory)
I will check into the ICU area again. Please keep suggestions coming.
