Well actually it should be fairly easy for you. Your looking to stay single cam. Only difference is you want to go vtec.
Heres a list of items you should be able to reuse if you cant find or want to go new.

axles
radiator
shift linkage
mounts
exhaust manifold, but id really recommend z6 or y8. I think the b8 would be restrictive for the power your looking for.

Now easiest route for you would be a z6 because it is obd1. If you could come across one complete that would be good for you but if not its still do-able. Putting the motor in would be the exact as you pulled it just in reverse. All mounts are in the same spots. Id recommend a z6 engine harness for plug and play operation. If not you would have to wire in vtec pressure switch and solenoid to the ecu. Not difficult but why hack stuff if you dont need to.

So things you would need.

z6 motor
z6 trans
z6 harness
z6 distributor
z6 alt.
obd1 p28 ecu

Hope this helps... Like I said should be pretty straight forward. Good luck.

This plus even if you use the z6 engine harness you'll still need too manually wire vtec from the shock tower to the ecu. Or you can also resuse the cx harness and wire vtec and 02 manually.
