Looks like it has been in a small accident. Mine was, and looked exactly the same before I fixed it. I got a whole new core support.
This is with the latch and everything moved/tight as possible and it still had a huge gap on the driver side.

This is after I fixed it, and during primer, I still didn't finish the hood.

give this a try.
the striker pin that goes into the lock plate. you can tighten/shorten it. remove it from your hood. use a 14mm open ended wrench and loosen the nut that keeps the striker from spinning. you're gonna have to squeeze through the spring. once it's loose, you can screw in the striker to shorten it. this will then close the gap. just don't make it too short, or else the striker won't go in far enough into the lock plate, which would then lead to you not being able to close the hood.
try this, see how it goes.

x2 on the striker pin i had the same problem and adjusted it and it fits like a glove! hope u dont have a hatch hood on ur sedan as i heard they were different

Found the problem is bent this is not the original one I never paid attention to it since this is a canadian EX model that piece has an american made sticker. ..
you need a new center trim piece. both the metal and the plastic piece.
also you can take that that part off (in your pic)and bend it. or just go to a junk yard and buy a cleaner piece.
