b16 with ac
Hey ht,
I have a 89 civic si with a b16, it had ac before but was removed by previous owner. I did a b series swap and was wondering what I need to put ac back in. The things that are missing is everything from the firewall to the motor.
Do I need all the original lines, ac condenser, compressor from a single cam?
I know that hasport and innovative makes the bracket so that the compressor bolts up to the block.
I searched that it can be done, I just need to be pointed to the right direction and need some feedback from someone that has done it...
Thanks

You need everything original from an 88-91 civic/crx model. Depending on the ac lines used you will need either a matsushita or sanden compressor. The innovative bracket works with the sanden compressor and the hasport works with both.
Not even close. Del sols have the condenser side by side the radiator, not in front of like the 88-91 civics/crxs. A del sol setup or 92-00 civic setup will not work.
Yes, thats what I was thinking using all the original ac components that comes with the ef and just but the hasport or innovative bracket mount.
The only problem im having is that all the lines, compressor and condenser, are missing. My question is that do the four door ef ac lines, condenser, and compressor fit the hatchback?
The reason is because its harder to come by a hatchback at the junkyard, I see four doors more than hatchbacks.

I can't say 100%, but I believe sedan parts will work. I had the same problem as you. I found the parts but instead of buying a special bracket I used a B-series compressor with hybrid lines that connect to the crx (P72 GSR Denso unit). Any hydraulics shop can modify your hoses to work. Clearance will depend on your mounts, I also have a traction bar which gives more room.
Ef sedans share most of the same lines. When I got my car two of my lines had holes in them but could find a sedan at the yard. Found that the part numbers were the same for most of the components I checked. Not sure about the condenser or evaporator, but a quick parts number search would reveal that
