check engine lights comes on

Default check engine lights comes on

i have the d16z6 complete swap, i noticed whenever i hit 85mph the check engine light comes on. can anybody tell whats this is happening.

which ecu are you using and are you pulling any codes? does the light stay on or go back off when you drop below 85?

im using the p28 ecu and the light only goes off when i turn the car off and on

Check the ECU and see which code it's flashing....

put a piece of wire in between the contacts on your service connector by the hood prop. tell me what codes it flashes when your CEL is on.

i beleive he has the Z6 with P28 on a EF .... theres no plug under the hood to ,make the ELD to flash....

I beg to differ with you on that point. When you do an obd conversion on a crx you hook up the brown wire from the obd1 plug (I don't remember what pin it is from)to the brown wire that used to go to pin b20 on the non obd plug. That goes to the plug under the hood that is used to set the timing. That is how you check codes on an obd car. True on a 5th gen car it is by the ecu but on a crx\ef civic it is on the drivers side under the hood. I am running the p28 in my crx also and am very familiar with the whole process. How is he supposed to check codes then?

my crx runs ten times better with the p28 than it ever did with a pm6\pg7 and vafc setup. i would tell anyone to go obd1 in a sohc vtec crx, you will not regret it.
