Hi I have a 1993 Honda del sol si. I just got the car and I love it except for one problem the speedometer dosent work at all. The odometer and the tac and everything works but I can't tell how fast I'm going and that gets to be a problem at times. Any idea what could be wrong?? Please help!!!!

 

VSS or needle was once removed but poorly put back into place.
Is there any CEL? Check Engine Light. Have you checked the VSS fuse in the fuse box?
If you Google'd it would've been WAY quicker than waiting for somebody on the forum to reply.

 

I pulled it out and noticed on the back of the circuit board there was a spot that looks like it got hot and burnt up any way to fix that without getting new Speedo???

 

Would the vss fuse allow the odometer to still work??

 

If it's only a solder point, solder it.

I'm going to try that in a little bit ill post tomorrow and tell if it works or not!!

 

Vss fuse is good and it still dosent work haven't soldered points yet will do that in a minute

 

And also the cel is off

 

Cel kicked on cuz I put on headers and didn't hook up the o2 sensor and soldierd it today and it didn't fix anything. Looks like I'm off to the junkyard to hopefully find one that will work in my car

 

From advice I've seen on thru google and from Eric the car guy it could just be your speed sensor but I'm unsure... I myself am having a simular issue. My Speedo works fine but every once in a while it will wag around to 5-10 under and over what my speed is

Now I'm not sure if mine has a glitch or something to do with the gauge itself. but does anyone have any suggestions?

 

i finally bought a new cluster and it works perfect! i have 1 extra cluster for sale now that works and one that needs a speedometer put in. 50 for the perfect one 20 for the one that needs a speedometer
