zc worth it?
I have a z6 in my car now and my buddies offering me a zc dohc for $100 (needs rebuild too much? He saidmits rare) and I was gonna build it for a light boost application 8-10lbs. And stick it in my car, will I need a different ecu, wireharness, tranny...? And is it worth getting and building? No im not expecting crazy horsepower or anything jus a boosted DD, and I have time to build it right and everything.
No. Pretty much the same engine.
And 8-10lbs doesn't mean anything.
NO one can tell you if it's "worth it" but you. Do some Google research and you'll be able to answer this question yourself.

Would the zc head bolt right up to my z6 block? I jus want a dohc over a sohc, (think they look better) and dont feel like spending 2500+ on a b series swap, and then want to boost that, if it does I could put the zc head on the z6 block and rebuild the bottom end on the zc and boost it later on. And does the "No. Pretty much the same engine" refer to needed a diff tranny, ecu, etc?
Jdmanglerking- id prefer to stay with d because I dont feel like spending a of bunch of money on my car (dont feel its worth it), just a fun little project for now

Not gonna build the z6 when i need the car as a dd now, thays the inquiry about a new motor, and i think dohc look better than sohc, im not going for power like i said just a lightly boosted dd, preferably a dohc and if im gonna stick a b series in my car its gonna be a b16 and you tell me where i can get a full swap for a decent price, everywhere my "honda" friends tell me is expensive, and im not putting 2g down for a stock motor for a pos car, and if im gonna get serious on a build its not gonna be a a beat down old civic so calm down grumblemarc
Then don't bother tryig to build anything. You call your car a pos honda yet here you are trying to boost and make it faster. Buying a dohc because it looks cool is moronic. Unless you plan on popping your hood for every tom dick and harry who gives a **** what it looks like. Why would you do a b16 if you were gonna do a dohc? If you were gonna do a b series it should either be a b18c or b18b and boost. B16's are a waste of time and money unless you happen to have one laying around already. If you aren't serious about modding your car just leave this thread. Don't come into a car thread ask questions then get defensive when you get jumped on for not taking it seriously.
