Main Relay vs. Fuel Pump
2001 Honda CR-V AWD
My engine will die while going down the road. I am unable to just pull over and restart. I have to wait for a bit to get it to start, but it does turn over when I try. I know the Main Relay sends signals to the Fuel Pump, but am not sure if this is the exact issue, or if it is the pump itself. The inside of the cab does smell like exaust at the time the car dies. Please help find a solution to this issue, I do not have much money and do not want to buy the wrong part. Is there a way to test each of these parts to narrow down the selection? Also this only seems to happen when it is very hot outside.
Thanks in advance for your replies

My crv had a recall for the ignition switch. It would die while driving... Call your local dealership and have your vin number ready. If it has the recall. They will fix it for free
