Default Hard to shift

My Z6 seems a lot harder to shift through gears than any other civic I've driven. Same shifter, D series engine & everything, but min'e feels more clunkier into gears than like butter, it feels as almost is grooving into teethed chambers, instead of a straight shot. I highly doubt it's a tranny problem, I feel as if the problem is not enough lubrications in the shifter assembly or something, but yeaaaah. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When was the last time the transmission fluid was replaced?

month ago, with 10w30 castrol. It was the same before I changed it tho, but I've heard that GM syncromesh does super wonders for hard shifting problems. I'm wondering if it'd be worth the buy. It's like $14 a quart. You gotta be Wiz Khalifa to afford that shtuff.

If $45 is too rich for you, for something you can do every couple years, maybe you should go pick up a bicycle, or a book of bus passes.

Pricing aside, how many miles are on the transmission, has it ever been overhauled, and does it grind or pop out of any gears, or at any RPM?

Not saying that man haha, just saying I don't wanna invest in the stuff if it ain't gonna change anything. I can afford it no problem, but there is a pop out when I downshift from 3rd to second, & reverse grind, & very few times it'll grind from 1st to 2nd, but I don't know how old tranny is. it's a 5 spd, lx sohc zc tranny, the swap has maybe 150xxx miles on it, but that's just my guesstimate.

So you have grinds and pop outs. Your transmission is just showing it's age, and needs an overhaul.

I have 98 EX Coupe that i just installed 16.1102 Energy Suspension (Black) Shifter Stabilizer Bushings Civic (D Series Engines), new shift linkage connector pin (Bitch pin), and new O-rings on the joint collar. Now it shifts as good as new, go hear; http://www.hondapartscheap.com/parts...is/shift-lever
I replaced Part #5 /2ea. #7 /1ea. #14 and #16 Energy Suspension kit (Black). #22 /1ea. #23 /4ea.
This is why you want the (Black); Color

Energy Suspension makes parts in 2 colors. Red and Black.

How are these two colors different?

The only difference between the red and black parts is that most Black Energy Suspension parts are Graphite Impregnated. This serves to help self lubricate the bushings. The Red parts do not have this characteristic. Aside from the actual color and the lack of being Graphite Impregnated - the red parts are essentially the same as the black.

I hope this helps You.

A couple bushings aren't going to make an old, worn out transmission suddenly run like new again. OP's collective symptoms aren't a bushing problem.
