Default D15b8 mini me swap

What's up guys new to the thread I've read up and done plenty of research on mini me swaps, seems pretty easy going for the most part but I'm using a d15 block and was wondering the best cylinder head to get I was told 93-95 vtech would be good but wanted more opinions on it

Well, I have done the swap on my 1994 Honda Civic CX hatchback.
You need a cylinder head, (either D16Z6 --92-95-- or D16Y8 --96-00--) both would be from an Si/EX model for both generations.
Then you'll need the appropriate VTEC wiring harness.
Also, swapping out the P07 ECU (I think that's the stock one) for a P30 ECU.
And also the dizzy too.

You didn't mention what year Civic you have... EG or EK?
I have D15B7 with the D16Y8 VTEC cylinder head swap.
But both the D16Z6 and the D16Y8 cylinder heads are pretty easy to use.
Not much really is different between the two cylinder heads, besides their design. D16Y8 is the newer VTEC cylinder head for the D-series. But the D16Z6 cylinder head is also a good choice as well.

A mini-me swap is generally a cheaper option for owners with a CX, DX coupe/hatch. Well, when one can't afford a B/H/K motor swap...
Hope that helps man...

Hi there.

This essentially gives you a 1.6 VTec minus minus the crank/rods that provides the added displacement yes?

Like Hallan I have been trying to absorb all the Mini-Me threads and there is enough to get a bit lost as well.

Help an old motorhead out if you please - Dizzy has to be the distributor, because we wind these motors up enough to make it dizzy?

Cheers.

P28 would be the most correct ecu to use not P30. Either head will be fine, you'll just need to wire up VTEC. The B8 dizzy will bolt right up to the Y8 head but only the Z6/z1 dizzy will bolt up to the z6 head.

You better ditch that b8 tranny for a z6/y8 one too!
