Default Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Cylinder head Question

Hey all, any and all help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Here is the problem. My friend and I are doing a Mini-Me setup on his 93 Civic Coupe after we completed mine. All we have to do is install the distributor but it wont fit! It seems to long but it fits into my D16Z6 head just fine. His cylinder head that I bought off e-bay for him looks exactly the same and it has a 94 stamp on it so it can't be a D16Y8. Does anyone know how I can tell for sure if it is a D16Z6?

The only other thing I think it might be is a D16Z1 But it has the exact same rocker arm assembly as my D16Z6. Some of the numbers don't match up to mine but I don't know if those numbers on the cylinder head actually mean anything to the specific version of cylinder head. Is there something I'm missing to install the Distribuotr? Or could it possibly be a D16Y8 even with that 94 stamp on it? The cylinder head was advertised as a D16Z6 I dont know what to do! We have been doing this for about a week now with waiting on parts from e-bay that don't work and its getting really really frustrating!

Someone told me that all Vtec D-series Distributors 92-95 will fit all Vtec D-series cylinder heads. In which case I have a D16Y8 head correct? But it has a 94 stamp next to the P08 number on the actuall head itself. I'm getting so confused.

Someone please help my noobtaztic ***!

All heads have a part number on the front above the exhaust ports.

Check the part numbers and compare.

Are the part Numbers the same between 2 different D16Z6 heads? Also do you know of a place where I can find stock part Numbers?

Thanks!

Wait now I'm confused again! That list shows it as a D16 of an SI. Wouldn't a regular D16 Distributor fit then between a EX and a SI?

Well that sucks don't it. What the hell if the dizzy fits in your head it should fit in the other since they were the same part for that year.

I wonder....could you or he possibly have a Y8 cam?

Thats verry possible seeing on how the the top rocker arms look exactly like a Y8. It could be possible that the guy I bought it from used a Y8 cam and Rocker arms to get a higher compression. But he wont answer any of my questions seeing how I already paid and left him positive feedback. We are going to fiddle with it some more before we buy a Y8 dizzy. I really do appreciate all the help Thanks allot to all!!!
