could a chassis(car) itself cause detonation?

this has been a thought in the back of my mind for a while now. could something be wrong with the chassis itself (not engine/trans/ecu etc) that would make any motor installed in it prone to detonation? my daily driver has its 4th motor in it and they all seem to have the same issue of retarding ignition timing a drastic amount to the point of real high egt's. (as a disclaimer ive worked on many dozens of other cars and none have had the same issues as this particular one)
i know some people can say that a particular car can just be bad luck or "cursed", but seriously how would that come to be?
lets get the discussion/speculation started!

I always keep my mind open for possibilties, but it sounds a bit far fetched to me. Realistically I don't see anything truly chassis related causing issues. If the car rolls smooth, and has no obvious fuel system problems it should tune and perform the same within a couple percent of an equivalent chassis/weight.

i mean like could it be wiring somewhere? bad grounds(though i did add an extra one who knows) stuff like that.
also its a stock fuel pump but if the wideband reads within spec i doubt it would matter
