Mandrel Bending for Exhaust near Silver Spring, MD
I ordered some knock off N1 style muffler off ebay (>_> yea I'm being cheap) and want to at least get the piping from the muffler to the axle back mandrel bent. I'm probably going to get the midpipe to the cat off ebay as well to cut some cost but anyway...
Anyone know of a reputable shop that will do mandrel bending around Silver Spring, Rockville, Columbia in Maryland?
Thanks in advance!

having someone mandrel bend you an exhaust to use with your ebay muffler will be more expensive than buying a real premade system.
Your not saving any money.
Custom is almost always more with a proper craftsman doing the work.

his prices are about the same as buying a whole premade system, and the guy is a perfectionist. I dont recommend using the ebay fart cannon though.
I already called him and asked for a few quotes. You're right. It will slightly cost a tad bit less for a full catback job than a premade one.

Back in the day, there were a couple decent shops behind the old Connecticut Ave. fire station, and a shop on the other side of antique row in K-town, but it's been a long while since I've been back that way - too long!

I'm going to give the guys at MBS a shot. If the typical fart can doesn't suit me all that much in the end; all that needs to be done is a cherry bomb custom from the axleback.

Source barriers broken down. Often I find **high-quality** used or (bought and *changed the mind* not-used stuff) on Craigs list, H-T marketplace, import atlanta, in junk yards and yes on the ever-demonized eBay as well. I try to go by the 50-65% range. There are lots of good deals now in our pre-collapse economy. Like it has always been (trading value for value) just looking for a seller who's looking for a buyer.
Much success to ya on your build!
I have no problem with going cheep (in a qualified sense) if possible. In fact I kinda prefer it on a lot of applications. Although doing it *requires* a bigger time-frame window for a build project completion, which is why professional builders on a paying customer time-is-money schedule can't generally do it.
