Need Pictures of Helm's Power Steering Diagram
I've been reading up on removing power steering on various boards for various cars. I've been staring at the Helm's manual....literally all night and most of last night and am coming up with some schematics to be able to remove the pump and reservoir safely.
One of the best write-ups I found ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=184202 ) is related to a Type-R. The problem with that, is 90-93 Integras have a mechanical speed sensor that partially uses power steering fluid for lubrication and partially uses transmission fluid. Any 94+ Integra or 92+ Civic uses an electronic speed sensor so none of this is a concern for them.
If you don't route some power steering fluid to the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) in our cars you run the risk of seizing its internals. That doesn't seem lke such a bad thing until you realize that the vehicle speed sensor is driven by the speedometer gear shaft which in turn is driven by a helical gear on the differential. That means that your diff will most likely be destroyed in the event that the VSS seizes and your transmission would be rendered useless.
To get to the point, I'm trying to do a write up and be the guinea pig for this whole project. I need pictures of the Helm's manual diagrams for the Type-R system to compare to my 90-93 Integra PS system. Any pictures you could post or email ( j_mojo_@hotmail.com ) would help me greatly, and any other members who want to remove their power steering.

Here, I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about and maybe that will give someone some more motivation to get scan/take a picture of a couple pages of their Helm's manual.
And NO, these pictures aren't from a Type-R so I still need some similar pictures. These are from my 92 Integra Helm's. Thanks in advance for your time.

How about from a GS-R?
I'd prefer a Type-R since that was what the article was based on...but beggars can't be choosers. Send it on over.
I'm confused... the power steering speed sensor is the VSS? The VSS in the third gen outputs electrically. I assume that your works the same way, but yet part of it is hydraulic? Is that what you mean?

I can take some screen shots of the Helm's manual if you are still curious.
BTW, I am still looking for some pictures of a Type-R Helm's manual power steering diagram.

give me a few minutes. I will post it here.
Sorry for the huge sizes and file sizes - pics taken with camcorder. Hope this helps.
EDIT: Nevermind, Tony got better pics.

Thank you graciously tonyxcom and sneakychaos!
If anyone with a Type-R would like to chime in and let me know if the diagram posted up for the GSR and the one for the Type-R have identical diagrams it would be much appreciated. If they aren't identical, I'd still like a diagram for the Type-R.
Thanks again everyone, this helps my project out tremendously.

These scans are from the Integra Helms 1998.
There are no differences between the Type R, GSR, LS, RS that I can see. The only diagrams are above.
EDIT - I can check my 2000 suplement, but I doubt anything will be different.
Edit Again - No additions in the 2000 suplement.

Oh, its nothing special.
It is the hand processing after the scans come in that makes the biggest difference.
You can use brightness/contrast to get rid of the back page that shows through the thin paper. If you have photoshop though, use "levels" as it gives you better control.
Glad to help.
