Default Erratic Idle / Need help ASAP!!!

Hey I'm new to Honda-Tech,

I have a problem with the idle on my 98 civic....

It revs to about 2000 rpm and then drops back down to about 1250 rpm, it is constantly revving up and down not keeping a constant rpm like it is supposed to. This happens whenever the clutch is pressed in disengaging the gears, it is fine when driving just when stopped at lights or at a stand still its revving instead of just sitting at a constant rpm.

If anyone has any ideas to what could be the problem id really appreciate the help!

Cheers,

Dingrz

Do a quick search on this site about TPS and IACV, those might be messing up to cause you to have this issue.

Calibrate your TPS, clean your IACV, bleed your coolant, and do an ignition tune up. Assuming you do all of this correctly (and it's all basic maintenance stuff you should do anyway), your problem should go away.
