95 Civic w/ D16Y8 & GSR TB. FITV adjustment needed?
So, I have fixed almost everything that was wrong with my car. I had FITV bypassed the whole time while the car was having problem with a lot of things such as head gasket, O2 sensor, IACV conversion from auto to manual on auto Y8 manifold, leaking radiator and cap, mechanical timing, ignition timing, idle and smog check. Now, I fixed all of that and my car started to idle perfectly as spec. But as FITV was bypassed, in the morning, my car idle at 1k RPM to begin with. I read about how engines need to have ideal temperature to work better and efficiently and that is the reason why engines needed to be heated up to ideal temp as soon as possible from cold start.
So I decided to put the FITV back into the system. I cleaned the FITV first very thoroughly. But I didn't know how far the white adjuster needed to be turned in so I just put it in not all the way but almost all the way. Now, in the cold start, especially in the morning, my car RPM jumps to 2k but it doesn't stay there and slowly comes down as FITV close as it should be. It oscillate slowly for a few seconds. It goes from 2k RPM to 1k RPM, then to about 1.8k RPM to 1.3k RPM, then it settled at 1.5k RPM. Then it drops slowly as FITV gets hot and closed as it is supposed to be.
Should I be concerned and readjust the FITV? That is the only thing happening now.

Yeah. I know Y8 doesn't use FITV. But the previous owner had GSR TB on the Y8 manifold. So, I am just working with what I have. So, should I just leave it bypassed?
Common problem is the intake gasket has a leak or pcv system is cloged make sure u don't have a vacuum leak first before u try fixing
Or also maybe try pulling one off from the scrap yard( hopefully a working one or just bye new if u can find it) and see what it is set to from factory and set your to the same
The. Y8. Does. Not. Use. An. FITV. Put what to where and then which to what? Try what from a scrapyard? Try a new what? vague much?
The Y8 does not use an FITV. You do not need a larger throttle body on that engine. Block it off or get a Y8 TB.

I know that Y8 does not need FITV from the start. I'm trying to use it since it's there and thought it might help with heating up the engine to ideal temperature. I just wanna know if that idle swing for a few seconds in the beginning might be a problem in the long run and should I fix it or not. After the car is warmed up and FITV is fully closed or partially closed, the idle is dead steady.
Ok. I'll block it off then. I've previously blocked it and there's no problem with idle. So, that should solve it completely.
Well, GSR TB without FITV is almost a Y8 TB isn't it. The TB opening is just a few millimeter bigger. Also, without FITV, I don't have a problem with idle. So, I guess I'll stick to this TB with FITV blocked off and coolant line bypassed.
Have U port matched the tb to the intake? And I'm no expert but I do not believe there is a difference
Just cause it bolts up doesn't mean it's the right part is tps and map in the same locations? Plugs been switched around?

They are in same place. The only difference is TPS had to be re-calibrated but that was already done and the accelerator cable needed to adjust and that was also done already. Many people do this setup thinking bigger throttle body opening will give more power which is wrong of course. I'm guessing that's what the old owner did.
