Hi, I bought six month ago a 1993 Civic EH9 with a D16A9 engine DOCH no Vtec, the engine has 93000 KM so far...at least that's what the panel says. Basically the car has been running "fine" except for a few repairs. So know instead of waiting for another failure I want to know when should change this fluids:

1. Oil Engine
2. Transmission Fluid.
3. Brake Fluid.
4. Power steering fluid.

Is there other kind of fluid that I'm missing? I assume the best is the Genuine from Honda.

I would either flush the rad or do a drain and fill. Use honda rad fluid it is already cut at 50/50.

 

Engine oil use whatever is cheapest 5W30.

Transmission fluid (you didn't mention auto or manual). If auto Honda only. If manual if recommend Honda but you can use things like engine oil or Syncromesh blends.

Brake fluid any over the counter brand.

Power steering Honda only unless you can find a brand that says its formulated for Honda.

Coolant I'd recommend Honda but if you're going to swap it all out I've used over the counter 50/50 mix in the past with no issues, just make sure to use distilled water.

If 5 speed you can also replace your clutch master fluid with whatever you use for your brake fluid.

 

Hi, thanks for the info, mine is manual, is a SI. Do you know how often should be changing those fluids?

 

I am using 10/40w in my D16A9,but if you are using your car in high rev ,you shoul use 10/60w
