Shifter too sloppy
Hey yall, good morning. I am in the process of almost completing the 5 speed swap... I have one problem though, the shifter is way too sloppy. It will shift into gears fine its just it feels like its in neutral. I can eve rotate it a little diagonally.
Does anyone have a quick DIY solution to this problem? I looked already and can't find the answer to this.
Thanks.

Man..... Didnt we all say 100 times just to create one swap thread?
I don't have an answer for you, but you will be much more likely to get help if you didn't ignore people's advice

I have looked for answers to this question and cannot find any and i'm not going to make another swap thread.
Out of the what two? No, three. Three threads that are semi informative. Make a damn thread for all the ridiculous stuff you post. Now you're calling us retarded? Get a damn life kiddo, you really need one. If you weren't able to find it online anywhere else, why in the hell do you think we would know?
Process of elimination. Find out what could be causing your issue and fix it.

if it's still the non cable setup, it's the rear shift assembly bushing and probably the torque rod bushing, they should be the same as any other fourth generation and I believe energy suspension makes a civic kit that fits
Look, if it's not moving more than 1/4-1/2 inch each direction while in gear, you're good. If more than that, check your shifter base bushings and then move on to check the cable bushings (on the transmission).
If it turns out you just don't like the freeplay as a result of the soft oem bushings, get Bronzoil bushings from TWM or aluminum bushings from Corsport. (Cable bushings)
If that's not enough, order the Shifter base bushings from TWM for the 97-01 Lude [USDM]. They are the same as the 90-97 Accords and 92-96 Ludes.
