Default D16Z6 Help...

Hi,

I purchased a 1991 honda CRX HF 5-speed a couple weeks ago, My friend just swapped the motor in his car ('95 honda civic ex), Anyways, he has his old D16Z6 for sale, he was gonna sell it to me for next to nothing, what i was wondering is, what do i need to swap if i wanted to put that motor in my crx

keep in mind I have the HF model

I was wondering if you guys could help me out by telling me pretty much everything i would need to get to drop the motor in the crx, he was going to sell me the engine with the tranny and ECU, but the tranny is a hydraulic i believe and that won't fit into the CRX

Any help would be great,

Thanks Guys

holy ****...search, but i'll do a run down

OBD0 -> OBD1 conversion, or an rpm switch or vtec controller, its up to you

HF is FI right? if so, thats cool. If not gotta convert that dual point to mpfi

stock mounts should work, make sure they're in good condition though

A friend to help you get out your old engine

thats about it, i believe, if not others will say stuff.

u have a very easy swap in front of u
take that engine and juts change it for your old HF engine
use ur stock Dizzy.. get a hold of an SI ECU (PM6),urs will work but not suitable for the Z6, it will not run tis full potential... and just put the inyectors off the HF onto the Z6 manifold.... ur car its already wired MPFI....so dont worry about that.... use ur stock drivers side engine mount on the Z6... and stock mounts around the engine... u can use ur stock tranny for now if u cant find an Si one....got more questions u can PM me and i can help ya out on anything u need

we can do that swap in a matter of 6 hrs or less

Thanks, I really appreciate all your help

a couple questions i had were

Is the stock HF tranny worth keeping? it has very tall gears because it is the HF model, the tranny right now has trouble getting into 1st and the clutch slips reallllly bad

Do i need to change the axels or anything of that nature?

Thanks again

Use the Si tranny, if you can find it. Best gearing for the engine.

I just recently did my swap and it's a breeze! make sure you put a new timing belt and water pump on the motor. since you already have MPFI your swap should be even easier. You can also PM me if you have any Q's
